A Brief History of 4x4 Response
The 4x4 response concept was originally established in 1999 by a group of Land Rover owners to provide local community support. During the early 2000's other Groups formed across Southern England.
A formal 4x4 Response Network first formed in 2006 as a steering committee and subsequently in 2008 it became the national umbrella charity 4x4 Response UK.
There are now 35 separate 4x4 response groups across the UK including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Mann and Isle of Wight.
Scotland now has six individual groups, which do meet on a regular basis. Highland 4x4 Response was formed in 2010.
